dA's Median User Age

Either I'm getting old, or dA's median user age is dropping. Either way, I'm finding myself relating less and less to deviants these days, and find myself getting angry over:

:bulletred: Kids butchering the English language when it's their primary language! I mean, people who learn English as a second language have a better grasp of grammar than some of the people on dA these days.

:bulletred: Kids using the deviants forum as a search engine, or otherwise asking to be spoonfed information without doing the leg work. Why should I devote my precious free time to teach you things you could have learnt by doing a little searching on your own?

:bulletred: Teenage arrogance and ignorance. I realise I was exactly the same not so long ago, but it's a mirror to the past I'd rather not have to stare into.

My name is Tim, and I spend all day on a computer.

Whenever I'm not working, I'm at home surfing dA and playing around in Photoshop.
I also like digital art, airbrushing, cars and archery, and my life is otherwise devoted to my fiancé, Misha (*KagomeResurrected).

On dA, I'm a part of the MN@ team and I primarily moderate the forums, and you can find me floating pretty much everywhere. I also lurk around on dAmn from time to time, so you might spot me there too.

Uh, you just banned me, or something, from the discussion I started. I would like to explain myself, although I realise it will get me nowhere.

I wanted to start that discussion thread because I am all but invisible here. I have only 80-something pageviews. Not nearly enough publicity to reach a wide audience. So, to increase my chances of finding my friend, or someone who knew him, I started that discussion thread.

By the by, you wouldn't be able to tell me how to search for deviants themselves, would you? I can't search my friend's DA name, but I could search for other things in his profile.

I understand it can be frustrating when not a lot of people watch you but you want to get a message out, but the forums aren't the place to do it. I'm afraid you might have to find another way to find your friend. Have you tried looking them up on Facebook, or even Googling their name?

Unfortunately, you can't search deviantArt for user details, but you can tell Google to look only on the deviantart.com domain, in advanced search options.

Yes I have tried, but there's an awful lot of Trevor Smiths - that's his real name - in the world, and this one keeps a very low profile. This is the only place where I think he might be found.

I will keep trying other methods. Thankyou for clarifying your actions, and I apologise for misusing the forums.
